About Forester's Cabin

Wake up to nothing but trees. Forester’s Cabin was built by hand, with full-log walls and beams soaring over a great room where the kitchen, dining table and living area share one warm space. The pellet stove makes it cozy, and sliding doors open straight onto the deck.

A private main-floor bedroom has a full bed, and an open loft overlooking the great room has two queens, so the cabin sleeps six. Outside, the deck looks across the clearing into the forest, and the fire pit is for evenings under the stars. It is a quiet base for skiing, golf, trails and elk country, and a real place to unplug.

Vanderbilt and nearby

Vanderbilt is a small town in the wooded hills between Gaylord and Boyne. Boyne Mountain and downtown Gaylord are each about 15 minutes away, the Pigeon River Country State Forest and its free-roaming elk herd about 30, and Petoskey and Lake Michigan about 40. Golf, ski hills, snowmobile trails and inland lakes are all a short drive.
